April is a great time to visit China. Weather-wise evenings can still be cool, and if you’re in northern China, warm clothing during the day is also advisable. But the increasingly mild weather throughout most parts of China makes this month an enjoyable time to tour the sights.
Beijing weather will have reached a high of about 20 degrees Celcius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) by the time April comes round. Evenings are cool at around 8 degrees Celcius (46 degrees Fahrenheit). Shanghai weather is similar; although in Beijing dust storms may occur causing the entire city to be blanketed in a fine dust blown in from the north.
If you are in south-western China, pay a visit to Guizhou and take part in the Miao people's Sister’s Meal festivities that will undoubtedly be in full throttle with bull-fights, horse races and grand feasts.
